We are in our 2d year running our coaching clinic. We ran 44 weeks this year and had over 100 kids registered and averaged 15-20 kids each week.

The weather conditions were a little bit wet but even with that the kids had a lot of fun!

We have to thank to many people who made this wonderful event to be possible.

1. Our Volunteers

Who gave their time on that day to help with the BBQ and also with games and to the parents who brought food to share around.

2. Loyal companies

Big thank you to the companies that helped on the BBQ. They are very important for us.

BCF Futsal Academy, Multicultural Sports Club, Diggers Club, Woolworths Logan Central, Mabrouk&Sons, Woolloongabba Hotel, Australian National Hotel, Superfly Pizza, Pawpaw Restaurant, Suburban West End, Raven Hotel, The Burrow Restaurant, K-Mart Logan and Club Southside.

How much did you know about it?

  • I did not have a clue!

  • I've heard about it...

Donations have been a part of human culture for thousands of years, reflecting our innate desire to help others and improve society. From ancient religious offerings to today's global philanthropy, the act of giving has evolved, but its core purpose remains the same: to make a difference.

Ancient Roots: Giving as Worship

In ancient civilizations like Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Greece, people made offerings to gods in temples. These gifts—ranging from food and goods to animals—were both acts of faith and early forms of charity. Religious institutions often redistributed resources to those in need, blending spirituality with communal support.

Similarly, in ancient India, the practice of dāna (selfless giving) was central to Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. The wealthy donated land, food, and wealth to religious groups and the poor, a tradition of generosity that shaped early societies.

Medieval Charity: Religious Almsgiving

During the medieval era, donations were closely tied to Christianity. Wealthy individuals gave to the Church, funding hospitals and almshouses that cared for the sick and poor. This era saw the rise of organized charity, with institutions dedicated to serving the less fortunate through religious values of compassion and generosity.

The Birth of Modern Philanthropy

The 18th and 19th centuries ushered in a new era of philanthropy, with industrialists like Andrew Carnegie and John D. Rockefeller leading the charge. Carnegie famously believed that the wealthy had a duty to give back, funding thousands of libraries and schools. Rockefeller established charitable foundations that tackled societal problems like public health and education, setting the blueprint for organized philanthropy.

Philanthropy Today: Global Impact

In the 20th century, foundations like the Gates Foundation revolutionized philanthropy by addressing global challenges like poverty and disease. The rise of the internet and crowdfunding platforms has made giving accessible to everyone, allowing people around the world to support causes they care about.

From ancient offerings to modern philanthropy, donations have always played a vital role in shaping societies and improving lives. Today, we continue to see the power of generosity in action, making the world a better place one donation at a time.
